California Burgers

Have you made your Homemade Guacamole yet?  Well it’s time to start using it!  I already told you that I prefer my guacamole on top of sandwiches over eating it straight with chips, and my favorite food group is burgers…..So it only stands to reason that this California Burger would be one of my absolute favorite burgers!!

Why did I call them California Burgers?  I’m not exactly sure…..

Almost every dish that contains avocado, get’s named “California” whatever it is.  If you have never lived in California, you may not know that guacamole and salsa are standard condiments right along side ketchup and mayonnaise!  We put it on everything. :)  Turkey sandwiches, burgers, grilled cheese, and of course Mexican food.

Cinco de Mayo is coming up, and this year I am working on getting all of my basics together and posted.  This blog is actually a family cookbook for my kids, so they need the basic recipes all in one place if they want to recreate the meals that they have grown up eating. :)

The other great thing about this burger, it is so easy to make!  Form and season the burger patties, and cook in a large skillet or frying pan until no longer pink…..

I love a California burger, although I usually make them with ground turkey and skip the bacon. Guacamole is so terrific.. it is working its way East I’m happy to report. I’m seeing it more and more, which is good news for us!

This looks amazing, Lisa, and I love avocado slices or guac on burgers. Grass-fed beef makes the best burgers, and we even had that same bacon last week. Pinning so that I remember to make this next time I we have bacon! :)
