Well I have just started the 4th week of Whole 30 and I needed a burger to celebrate! It may not be a Guinness Burger topped with melted cheese, onion rings, and a soft, squishy homemade bun, but these Smashed Potato Burgers are crazy delicious in their own right. They are gluten-free, dairy-free, and Whole 30 compliant…..

You won't even miss the bun once you dig into these delicious Smashed Potato Burgers! cookingwithcurls.com

Drizzle with Garlic Aioli or condiment of your choosing. Apparently week 4 is when your food cravings start really kicking in {trying to sabotage you} but I did not break…I did not melt cheese on top!!! HA

Notes:

  • Technically Smashed Burgers would be divided into 8 portions, giving you (2) thinner burger patties. I just wanted one, lol
  • I used what I consider large Yukon Gold potatoes so I would have a nice burger to potato ratio….which is also why my burger patties were regular size.
  • I am sure that you could substitute sweet potatoes to make this meal Paleo, but I have not tried that so you are on your own to figure out the cooking times. 😉

Have you ever noticed how many pizza commercials there are on TV? TOO MANY!! Yep, I would kill for a slice of pizza right now…but I am being strong…and eating way too much red meat to compensate!

Enjoy!!

  1. Wow! Made these tonight and they were AMAZING!! My husband even said they tasted better than restaurant burgers. Really hit the spot and didn’t even miss the bun. That sauce was such a good touch too! Added a little garlic powder, onion powder and paprika to my burgers as they cooked. THANK YOU for sharing this!!
