My friend Cheryl came over for dinner again last week, and she had never had lamb before…..so that needed to change! I love these burgers…they are such a nice change from regular burgers, I just knew that she needed to try them…..and she liked them! Yeah…..happy dance! I would have felt horrible if she had hated them.

I first had a mini version of these Greek Burgers at a local restaurant named Zin’s a few years ago. They were so adorable. I guess I should make mini buns and mini burgers sometime. Oh well, these work just fine. I served them exactly the same way they were served to me that night, minus the pommes frites! I have banned the deep fryer from my kitchen.

I was a bit frazzled at this point of the evening…..this was the afternoon that I received a phone call from my son. He had just been in an accident and needed me to bring him the new insurance card to show the police! By the time I got home, it was almost time for Cheryl to arrive, so I was forgetting things left and right.

How to make Greek Burgers:

Form ground lamb into 8 patties. Place a scoop of feta cheese in the center of 4 of the patties. Now would be the time to add the sliced olives if you are going to use them…..

Place the remaining patties on top of the cheese covered patties. Push together and seal the edges.

Cover and cook in a large skillet over medium heat, until the juices run clear…..

Yes, there are only 3 burgers in the pan…Alex is allergic to dairy, so his has to be cooked separately.

Place patty on bottom bun. Top with a tomato slice and onion slices…..

Drizzle with balsamic glaze…..

And serve with French Fries or Crispy Herb Roasted Potatoes.

The insurance adjuster came down to Iowa yesterday to inspect Alex’s car…..it has $3,100 worth of damage! It is up to the other insurance company to make a final determination on fixing/totally it out, so we will see what they say. This car is jinxed!!! Two years ago it sustained $3,200 worth of hail damage 🙁  They put on a new hood and removed all of the dents. Then two months later his sister backed into it and dented the brand new hood…..we still need to fix that as well! Never a dull moment..

**It has been 5 years since I wrote this post. Alex’s car has been hit 2 more times, not as severe, but I still believe that car is jinxed!! He is now in Arizona and plans to drive that car until it dies!

Enjoy!!

  1. I love lamb, but I never order lamb burgers. Why? I really don’t know! These look delicious – I’m really going to fix that. Sorry about your son and his car…I’m really not looking forward to my kids turning 16!

  2. I find lamb to be one of those things that people either like it or they don’t. Last night I made a leg of lamb for a small party for hubby’s birthday and although it’s not one of his fav things, he loved it! I found the recipe on Pinterest and I have to say it was awesome. Your burgers sound delish! Love the idea of putting cheese in the middle. I did that once and not oly does it add flavor but makes the burger juicier.

As for the car, when our daughter first got her license she had two fender benders within the first two months, both her fault. That was 11 years ago. Since then, nada. So there’s hope.

Thank you for joining At The Hop this week!

  3. I never eat lamb either. I really don’t know how to prepare it. But this burger sounds wonderful. Thank you for the recipe so, now I have one.

    Consider yourself hugged,

  4. I’m glad to see I’m not the only person who cooks hamburgers indoors! Sometimes I feel like the only person in America without a grill. At any rate, I love lamb and these burgers look super tasty!
