They are so simple to prepare that the kids could whip them up without supervision whenever the pizza cravings kicked in! No dough to let rise, just grab some bagels out of the refrigerator, pick your toppings and you’re ready to go…..

I have  made homemade bagels in the past, but for this Bagel Pizzas recipe I decided to keep things nice and simple. I have a plan and all of this will make sense next week. Just pretend you’re ten years old and keep playing along! 😉

How to make Bagel Pizzas:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silpat liner and set aside. Separate/split your bagels in two and place them on the baking sheet…..

Spread pizza sauce on each bagel slice…..

Use as much sauce as you like, there are no rules with this recipe. Now you have some choices here: you can grate a block of mozzarella cheese, or you can use fresh mozzarella slices…..

and break them apart with your fingers. I used one slice of cheese for each bagel slice, then top with your pepperoni slices…..

and/or sliced olives…..

You could also use sliced mushrooms, diced bell peppers, onions, whatever your family likes on their pizzas. Next, top each pizza with grated Parmesan cheese…..

And bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling…..

Ingredients

  • 4 bagels -sliced in half plain, egg, whole wheat
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 36 slices pepperoni or as many are needed
  • ½ cup sliced olives drained
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper/silpat liner, set aside.
  • Split bagels in two and set them on the baking sheet.
  • Spread pizza sauce onto each bagel half.
  • Top with 1 ounce {one slice} of mozzarella cheese.
  • Arrange pepperoni slices on top of cheese.
  • Add sliced olives, or any other toppings.
  • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbling.
  • Allow to cool slightly {especially for little ones} and serve.

  1. I love that you have a whole Pinterest board devoted to pizza. We could “hang”! That fresh mozzarella is such a good idea – it tastes so delicious. I might add some basil from my garden now that I finally have some:)
