Houston…we have found the sunlight! I have been utterly perplexed and annoyed over the past few months over the lack of light in this house. The windows are very small, and the houses are very close together. This is not really conducive to a bright, sunny home that every blogger craves….and needs…but I think that I have finally found the sweet spot……..
You either love Brussels sprouts or you hate them, right? But have you actually ever tasted properly prepared Brussels sprouts? I have to admit, these Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Squash with Dried Cranberries are pretty darn good! Of course roasting vegetables always makes them taste better, and anything would taste better than boiled Brussels sprouts!!…
Do you ever feel like you have been jinxed? As soon as you say something, you have this horrible feeling that the exact opposite outcome is about to become reality? My son and I were having a conversation on Sunday about allergies, and I made the mistake of pointing out that I have only had a problem once with allergies since I moved to Arizona 2 months ago……..
I have a weakness…..a weakness for fried foods! I know that Crispy Onion Rings are not healthy, nor do they have any real nutritional value, but they just taste so amazing!! These little babies are perfect on Guinness Bacon Cheeseburgers and Steakhouse Pizzas, or served as an appetizer with Homemade Ranch Dressing by their side……..
Have I ever mentioned how much I love potatoes? Fried, baked, wedges, mashed, however you prepare them, they make the perfect side dish. These crispy Baked Potato Wedges are no exception, they are crazy delicious! I made them to go along my Alaskan Seafood Crab Feast that is coming up next week, but first, we enjoy the spuds……..
I’m back with another simple, yet dreaded recipe…..Turkey Gravy! People have a love hate relationship with gravy, but I am here to show you how incredibly easy it is to make. Not only is is easy, it turns out perfectly every time. Gravy is one of those recipes that takes a little bit of patience, and you need to follow directions. Take a deep breath, and you will have delicious Turkey Gravy in about 10 minutes……..
Candied Sweet Potatoes…Candied Yams…whatever you call them, Thanksgiving dinner would not be the same without them. Well not in my mind anyway! I have already mentioned that turkey is one of my least favorite meats, so I tend to fill up on all the other dishes served on Thanksgiving. It is a complete carbfest on my plate, lol. I am “thankful” that this meal only comes around once a year!…
It’s almost that time folks, it’s almost Thanksgiving. Are you ready? Do you have favorite family recipes that you make year after year? This Bacon Pecan Stuffing is one of those recipes for my family. I have made some variation of this stuffing for the past 20 years! I have tried it with cornbread, I have tried it with cornbread and bread cubes, but everyone seems to prefer straight bread stuffing……..
