Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 cups chopped yellow onion
  • 2 large cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound ground beef grass-fed
  • 3/4 cups Italian sausage
  • 1/4 cup chopped, Italian parsley

Instructions

  • Heat oil over Medium heat in a large skillet.
  • Add the onion and cook until softened, about 4 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and cook for one additional minute.
  • Add the ground beef and Italian sausage. Chop meat into small pieces and cook until no longer pink.
  • Add the Italian parsley, stir to combine.
  • Use as a filling for calzones, egg rolls, or as the base for meat sauce.

Notes

Yes you can add basil and oregano, but this basic version is used as a base in other recipes so simplicity works.
