1tablespooncoconut oilor shortening as needed to thin the chocolate
36red candy hearts
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or wax paper. Set aside.
Add the Oreo cookies to the bowl of a food processor and pulse until they resemble course sand.
Pour into a large mixing bowl and add the cream cheese. Mix together until well blended. Stir in the sprinkles until combined.
Divide the mixture into 36, 1-tablespoon sized balls and roll until smooth and place on prepared baking sheet. Place in the freezer for 10 minutes or in the refrigerator until chilled and firm to the touch.
Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30 second intervals, stirring each time until melted and smooth. Stir in the coconut oil until melted and thoroughly mixed.
Using a large fork, dip each cookie ball into the melted chocolate, covering the entire surface. Gently tap the fork against the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
Place in a single layer on a waxed-paper lined baking sheet and top with a red candy heart. Refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes to harden.
Notes
If you do not have a food processor, place cookies in a zipper-top bag and crush with a rolling pin. They will not come out as smooth, but it will still work.
Do not use Doublestuf Oreos. Use any flavor of "regular" Oreos that you like.
For added texture, drizzle melted chocolate over the top of each truffle before adding the candy heart. This can be done with a piping bag or a small spoon.
Feel free to substitute dairy-free cream cheese if needed.
Add 1 teaspoon of mint extract f.
For a more traditional, non-Grinch Christmas truffle, sprinkle with holiday sprinkles instead of the red heart.

Place cookie balls on a baking sheet and place in the freezer for 30 minutes to harden. Remove from freezer and place in a zipper topped freezer bag with the air squeezed out, or a freezer-safe container. Store in the freezer for up to 2 months. When ready to serve, allow the cookie balls to defrost overnight in the refrigerator.
