Pour the tequila, liqueur, and lime juice into a half gallon pitcher.
Add ice to the pitcher, and stir to combine.
Rub glasses with lime juice and dip in margarita salt.
Pour margaritas into the glasses and serve.
Notes
While I was doing my research on the perfect pitcher of margaritas, I found myself on the Jose Cuervo website. Did you know that simple syrup is not in the official recipe?
These margaritas are quite tart, but do not have the added sugar/calories of the type that we have all gotten used to. I decided to go ahead and eliminate the sugar rush.
Test your margaritas before you serve them. If they seem too tart for your tastes, add 1/2 to 1 cup of simple syrup.
Total amount of servings will depend on the size of glasses that you use.
