Orange Boozy Brownies are not your average brownies! They consist of a brownie base with an orange liqueur filling and are covered with chocolate topping!
1teaspoonalmond liqueuror substitute pure vanilla extract
½teaspoonsalt
1teaspoonespresso powder
1cupall-purpose flour
Orange Filling
½cupunsalted buttersoftened
4cupspowdered sugar
4Tablespoonsorange liqueur
¼cupfull fat coconut milkshake well before opening - can substitute heavy cream
Chocolate Topping
6ouncessemi-sweet chocolate chips
4Tablespoonsunsalted butter
3Tablespoonsorange liqueuror substitute water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place parchment paper inside a 9 x 13 pan with extra length to use as handles.
Chocolate Base:
Melt chocolate and butter in the microwave in a medium bowl. Start with one minute and stir. Continue heating in 15 second intervals until completely melted. Cool slightly, like 5 minutes or so.
In a large bowl, beat eggs while gradually adding sugar.
When all of the sugar is beaten in, slowly add the chocolate mixture. Continue beating until smooth.
Add the flour, salt, espresso powder, and almond liqueur.
Beat for one full minute to combine.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, do not over bake. Allow to cool completely.
Orange Filling:
Beat butter and sugar together in a large bowl, gradually adding the coconut milk and orange liqueur until smooth. Add food color gel if desired.
Spread over cooled chocolate base. Place in the refrigerator to chill, 30 - 60 minutes
Chocolate Topping:
Place topping ingredients in a medium sized bowl.
Heat in the microwave for one minute, stir. Continue heating and stirring until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
Pour over chilled bars.
Place back in the refrigerator until completely chilled.
