Ingredients
8
uncured beef hot dogs
(or as many as you need)
8
slices
uncured bacon
(uncooked)
½
cup
barbecue sauce
2
cups
crispy onion rings
8
hot dog buns
Instructions
Preheat gas grill to medium. I used 2 burners, and left the 3 turned off.
Wrap one bacon slice around each hot dog {as many as needed} and place on a plate.
Place hot dogs on the grill with the ends of the bacon down on the grill. Cook until bacon looks cooked.
Flip hot dogs over and brush with barbecue sauce. Continue cooking until second side is cooked.
Flip hot dogs over, brush with sauce, and cook until sauce is heated.
Split hot dog buns down the middle {if they are not pre-cut}. Place on the grill to toast.
Place hot dogs inside bun, drizzle with additional barbecue sauce and top with crispy onion rings.
Notes
Make the onion rings ahead of time so you can throw these
Barbecue Bacon Hot Dogs
together right when they come off the grill.
I used unsplit hot dog buns from the bakery so the bun would cradle the hot dog and not fall open, but that’s personal preference.
If you would like to bake your own hot dog buns, the recipe is
HERE.
I decided last minute, so I didn’t have time.
