These soft, fluffy Dinner Rolls are the perfect addition to any meal. Make the dough in a bread machine, bake them in the oven and they are super simple to make as well!
Pour hot water, honey, oil, beaten egg, and salt into the pan of a bread machine.
Add the flour, make a well in the center and add the yeast.
Place pan in the bread machine, close the lid, plug in the machine, and select the "dough" cycle.
When the machine beeps - Do Not Open The Lid - look through the lid and see how much the dough has risen. If it is less than 3/4 of the way up the sides, unplug the machine and allow to continue rising. If you open the lid, it will let all of the heat out. It could take another 30 - 60 minutes depending on weather and humidity.
Remove the dough to a flour covered surface, and divide into 12 equal sized pieces. I find it easier to use a kitchen scale to divide the dough. Allow dough to rest for about 10 minutes.
Roll dough into balls, place in a 9 x 13 baking pan.
Cover with a kitchen towel, and allow to rise a second time until almost doubled, 30 - 45 minutes in a warm, draft-free spot. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave.
Remove the towel, and brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter. Place in a preheated oven and bake for 12 - 15 minutes until tops are golden brown.
Remove from oven and brush tops again with remaining butter.
