0.5cupcandy coated chocolates in holiday colorsoptional
Instructions
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or silicone liner, and set aside.
Pop the popcorn and remove any un-popped kernels, then pour into a LARGE bowl. Set aside.
Place the candy melts in a small microwave-safe bowl. Heat on HIGH for one minute, stir and heat for an additional minute. Stir and continue heating and stirring in 15 second intervals until the candy is melted and smooth.
Pour the melted green candy over the popcorn and gently toss until the popcorn is evenly coated. Add the candy coated chocolates (or any other mix-ins) if using, stir to combine.
Spread popcorn mixture over the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with the jumbo red hearts and lime green jimmies.
Set aside to cool completely. Once the popcorn has hardened, break it into pieces and transfer to a serving bowl or decorative popcorn bucket.
I have a 1000 watt microwave, so you may need to adjust your melting times based on your own oven.
Make sure you use a MASSIVE bowl to stir the popcorn.
I did not stir in the jumbo heart sprinkles because they are pretty delicate and I did not wan them to break apart.
Get creative and add pretzels, mini marshmallows, or even a bit of mint extract for extra holiday flavor.
Store leftover popcorn in an airtight container, at room temperature for up to 3 days. The popcorn may be softer after a few days but still quite delicious.
You can use packaged, butter flavored popcorn but make sure it’s plain or lightly buttered so the green melted chocolate will stick and the flavors won’t clash.
