3large Granny Smith applespeeled, cored, and thinly sliced
Glaze
½cuppowdered sugar
½teaspoonpure vanilla extract
1Tablespoonmilk
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Carefully unroll the puff pastry sheets and place them on the parchment paper. Score a 3/4-inch border around the edge to create a “crust”. Do not go all the way through the dough! Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter with a fork until it forms a crumbly mixture. Set aside.
Peel, core and slice the apples.
Place the apples in rows on the puff pastry sheets.
Sprinkle crumb topping over the apples. Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
Mix the glaze ingredients together to desired consistency. Drizzle over the pizza.
Notes
All oven cook differently so baking times may need to be adjusted. Keep an eye on it! My oven in Arizona cooks much hotter than the one I had in Iowa, so my pizza is a bit overdone.
Apples are incredibly dry here in the desert, well everything is, but I had a hard time getting the apples to slice without breaking apart. That is why some are already turning brown in the images, and there is a mosaic of apples in the center. The streusel topping hides everything!
Use any type of apples that you like. Granny Smith are generally more tart. Honey Crisp are sweeter and juicier.
