Ingredients
2.5
cups
seedless watermelon
diced and frozen
⅓
cup
high-quality clear tequila
I use Cabo Wabo Blanco
2
Tablespoons
granulated sugar
2
Tablespoons
fresh lime juice
1
Tablespoon
Cointreau
or triple sec
Instructions
Cut open, slice, peel, and dice your watermelon. Place watermelon chunks in a large plastic zipper bag.
Freeze watermelon for a minimum of 3 hours. Place unused frozen watermelon back in the freezer for next time!
Place frozen watermelon, tequila, sugar, lime juice, and Cointreau in a blender.
Add ice cubes, and start with the lowest setting, mine is STIR.
Continue blending until you make it to PUREE/LIQUIFY and mixture is smooth.
Rub the rim of the margarita glasses with the remnants of your squeezed lime.
Dip glass into a bowl of sugar to coat the edge.
Pour margarita into glasses, add a straw and lime wedge, and serve.
Notes
The measurement for the tequila is quite literally 1/3 - 1/2 cup of tequila, as in the line between 1/3 and 1/2.
For a stronger drink, use 1/2 cup of tequila.
