Instructions
Trim the ends of the asparagus spears by cutting 1-inch off the bottom, or hold each spear in your hands and bend until it snaps towards the bottom.
Place asparagus on a plate or bowl and toss with olive oil, black pepper, and lemon zest. Toss with your hands to coat.
Spread the asparagus out evenly in the basket of an air fryer.
Select the AIR FRY option, then set the TIME for 5 minutes and the TEMPERATURE to 400 degrees. Flip the asparagus over halfway through the cooking time.
Remove from the fryer and place on a platter or serving plates. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
Notes
For a softer texture, allow the air fryer to preheat, then add the asparagus to the basket.
I have not added salt to the recipe because I find parmesan cheese to be salty enough. Feel free to add a pinch of sea salt before tossing.
