The first week of December is almost over, my kitchen is still torn apart, and my Christmas tree is in desperate need of some ornaments! So how is your week going? In the middle of all the chaos, and because I only have 2 working outlets in my kitchen, I am sharing this fun Pomegranate Yule Mule with you to brighten your holidays…and mine…..
I should back up a bit and explain “why” I have chosen to name this cocktail a Pomegranate Yule Mule, lol. The day my parents were flying off to their latest destination, we went to the Irish Wolfhound for dinner. The food is amazing, and the cocktail menu is inspiring. 😉
They have a Yule Mule listed and I knew that I had to give it a try! So I went off to the grocery store to purchase my cranberry juice, that’s what they use, but decided that pomegranate juice sounded like a better option….and how cute are those pomegranate arils?
Apparently everyone else in town had the same idea, because it took 3 tries to find ginger beer!! Nothing was going to stop me, now I absolutely HAD TO try this Pomegranate Yule Mule that was invading my thoughts!! Do you ever get an idea stuck in your head and it drives you completely bonkers until you accomplish it?
How to make a Pomegranate Moscow Mule:
Place ice cubes into two copper mugs…..
you can always add more later if you like, but this was a good starting point. 😉
Pour 1/2 of the pomegranate juice and vodka into each mug…..
Pour 1/2 a bottle of ginger beer into each mug…..
Squeeze 1/2 a lime into each mug and drop into cocktail. Sprinkle pomegranate arils over the top if using and garnish with a rosemary sprig…..
or not, lol. I happened to have some on hand so I tossed one in. Yes, that is a lime wedge and not 1/2 of a lime rind that you see in the mug. I take my photos the first time I make a recipe, then make changes and adjustments to future batches if needed. 😉
Notes:
- The original Moscow Mule was created by the owner of the Cock ‘n Bull restaurant in Hollywood, CA back in 1946. The extra ginger soft drink is how the Moscow Mule got its kick!
- I actually used POM pomegranate/cherry juice in mine because it is my favorite, but any pomegranate juice will work just fine.
You probably already know this, but Moscow Mules are traditionally served in solid copper mugs. I absolutely LOVE these hammered copper mugs. {affiliate link} They also come with a cute copper measuring cup, lol

Yummy! I love the name Yule Mule! I made a cranberry version with Zevia a few years back and I love seeing everyone’s beautiful Moscow Mule pics ever since – mine were not so good… 🙂
This sounds like a winner! yum
Looks delish! I love mules and copper mugs. This reminds me of some pomegranate margaritas I made a few nights ago for company, love the pom arils, they make such pretty garnishes! Pinning for later!
