Ingredients you will need

Ingredients-to-make-Irish-iced-coffee.

I have obviously deviated from the ingredients in a Classic Irish Coffee but it so worth it.

  • Cold Coffee – this can be brewed coffee that is chilled overnight, or you can purchase your favorite cold brew to keep on hand.
  • Simple Syrup to add a bit of sweetness to the coffee.
  • Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur adds creaminess and a unique chocolate and vanilla flavor.
  • Guinness Draught – a deep, intensely flavored beer from Dublin, Ireland. Irish Whiskey can be substituted for a more traditional drink if you prefer.
  • Whipped Cream is the perfect way to top off this drink, but it is optional.
  • You will also need: 12-ounce glass, ice cubes, and straws.

Serving suggestions

Irish Iced Coffee is an obvious choice to serve on St. Patrick’s Day, and would be delicious served alongside your favorite Irish recipes like Instant Pot Irish Beef Stew, Irish Nachos, Classic Shepherd’s Pie with Lamb, Guinness Beer Braised Chicken Thighs, or with Irish Apple Cake for dessert.

Recipe Notes

  • I used some funky whiskey glasses, but a 12-ounce Collins glass or Highball glass would work as well. Adjust the amount of ice you use to fill the glass as much as needed.
  • Chilling all of the ingredients before making this drink cuts down on the amount of time needed to make this cocktail, and you don’t need a cocktail shaker.
  • To avoid watering down your drink, pour coffee into an ice cube mold and freeze overnight.
