Celebrating sisterhood and friends with some sweet and sassy Peach Moscato Smoothies cookingwithcurls.com #MiddleSister #DropsofWisdom

Biology alone does not make you sisters. Understanding, friendship, compassion, and loyalty are the qualities that make anyone close to you a sister. The person you call on the phone when your life turns upside down without notice. The person that shows up with a bottle of your favorite wine (or Peach Moscato Smoothie) and tissues to help you through the worst experience of your life…..

is a sister. I do not have any biological sisters of my own, but the friends that I have been lucky enough to have in my life have more than made up for it!! Even the “sisters” that live 3,000 away, are as close as the ones that live around the corner. True friendship is a gift and should be treasured.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

A few weeks ago, I threw a party for my Iowa sisters Cheryl and Sandy. The Sweet & Sassy Peach Moscato Smoothies were the star of the meal, but I also served cheese & crackers, sausage rolls in puff pastry, cilantro lime shrimp…..

Meat and Cheese Platter with Middle Sister Wines cookingwithcurls.com

and an assortment of our favorite Middle Sister Wines…..

  • Goodie Two Shoes Pinot Noir {my favorite}
  • Drama Queen Pinot Grigio {for Cheryl}
  • Sweet & Sassy Moscato {for Sandy}

I still need to try…..

  • Mischief Maker Cabernet Sauvignon {for Jill}
  • Wild One Malbec {for Jan}
  • and Rebel Red {for Michelle}

Aren’t those names so much fun? They are not exact matches for their personalities, well maybe a couple of them are, but they are fun and definitely a conversation starter!!

I am even more excited to try out the remaining flavors, because the new labels include “Drops of Wisdom”…..

“I enjoy long, romantic walks to the wine fridge”…..sounds about right! 😉 The Middle Sister brand is based on a series of “quirky” middle sister characters who each claim their own varietal and personality. They are created by award-winner winemaker Nancy Walker {a middle sister herself}, and include a wide variety of delicious red, white, and sparkling wines from California and Argentina. I kind of wish that I was a middle sister!

How to make a Peach Moscato Smoothie:

Step One: place frozen peaches and Moscato into a blender…..

Step Two: start on Low/Stir, and work your way up to High/Liquefy until smooth and completely blended. Add additional wine if needed to achieve desired consistency…..

Step Three: serve with sliced, fresh peaches and cute little straws…..and begin telling your friends how much they mean to you….

Like when Cheryl searched 5 different stores for Kozy Shack cherry jello…..that does not exist outside of the hospital! And when she vacuumed my living room before Christmas because I still couldn’t move after surgery, LOL. For listening to me cry my way through anniversaries and other previously important occasions, even though she has never been married and has no clue what I am talking about!!

Or when Sandy showed up almost daily with food {tilapia, salmon, spring rolls} and magazines after my surgery so I would get my strength back…..so she could take me out Christmas shopping. 😉 She is still taking me to different restaurants and movies to force me out of the house, and I truly appreciate it!!

Michelle may not have been in Iowa for the sisterhood celebration, but I will never forget her flying to Illinois with her son for a college weekend two weeks after my husband walked out. She flew for 10 hours, and then drove for 5 hours to Iowa…..through a tornado warning no less!! We stayed up all night talking, only stopping to get 3 hours sleep. She then hopped back in the rental car and drove back to Illinois, and got on a plane for 10 more hours to fly home!!

If these are not acts of true sisterhood, I don’t know what is!

If you’re not a fan of peaches, I also have a mixed berry Wine Smoothie that is just as easy to make…..

    I love this! I have never tried the “Middle Sister” wines, but I am a middle sister and sometimes that is enough for me to need a bit of wine! Congrats for finding your own sisters, Priceless!

    You are truly blessed with wonderful “sisters.” The moscato looks fabulous, and I’m pinning that. Now, the big question is, how am I to get my hands on a bottle of the Goodie Two Shoes wine? My local targets don’t sell wine, but my next stop is to find it online!

    I saw this frozen cocktail featured at the DIY Sunday Showcase linkup and popped over. I thought this recipe would be perfect for this up coming weekend when my 2 best friends, who are like sisters, come for a long overdue visit. And then I read your post! How absolutely fitting! I have tried the Pinot Grigio from Middle Sisters, so I’m looking forward to trying the Moscato. Thank you so much for sharing, have a wonderful week!
