I hear those sleigh bells ring-a-ling, jing-jing-jingaling….okay not really, it’s still 90+ degrees here in Arizona but the holiday music and ads are already filling the airwaves! I may not get snow here {thankfully} but I still love to indulge in all of the holiday traditions, including a creamy and delicious Gingersnap Latte…..
Cinnamon, molasses, ginger, and cloves mixed with a double shot of espresso and steaming hot Silk® Cashewmilk create a decadent Gingersnap Latte that everyone can enjoy.
It still amazes me how many people refuse to accept that they are lactose intolerant, simply because they do not want to feel deprived of their favorite recipes. By substituting Silk® Cashewmilk, Coconutmilk, Almondmilk, or Soymilk, everyone can enjoy a delicious coffee drink and no one is left out.
I have even served my favorite Peppermint Mocha to friends using Silk® Cashewmilk, and they didn’t even notice a difference!! Shhhh, don’t tell them….
The next time you are in the dairy aisle at Walmart to purchase your favorite Silk® product, you might be surprised by the new packaging. Update: They have changed it again so ignore this part…..
It has a new look, but the same silky smooth taste that we all love. 🙂
How to make a Gingersnap Latte:
Pour Gingersnap Syrup into a mug that is 14 ounces or larger…..
I bought the clear mugs because they would look cool, not realizing that 13 ounces is too small if you are going to top your Gingersnap Latte, lol
Add the espresso or coffee….
and the heated Cashewmilk. Stir to combine…..
Top with Coconut Whipped Cream or your favorite non-dairy topping, if desired. Grate fresh nutmeg over the top and serve…..
As you can see, the whipped topping did not exactly fit. Oh well, messy is still delicious!! 😉
Notes:
- A double shot of espresso equals 3 ounces, approximately. Substitute very strong coffee if you do not have an espresso machine.
- If you need a refresher course, this is how you make Espresso at home.
- I always use Unsweetened Cashewmilk so I can control the sweetness, especially in savory dishes.
You guys know how much I love Silk® Cashewmilk, right? I use it in everything! It is thick and creamy just like milk, but did you know that Original and Unsweetened Cashewmilks have fewer calories than skim milk? Now I have even more reasons to love it. 🙂
