    What you will need

    Dragon Fruit Margarita ingredients.
    • I used frozen red dragon fruit, but you could substitute fresh if you prefer. Your drink will be thicker if you use frozen.
    • Honey to add a touch of sweetness, but agave nectar can be substituted for a vegan cocktail.
    • Blanco or silver tequila plus Cointreau (orange liqueur) give this drink its smooth kick, while fresh lime juice adds a touch of tart flavor to round out the flavors.
    • Ice cubes add the thickness and texture that is expected from a frozen cocktail.
    • Sugar rimmed glasses add sparkle and finish off the drink.

    What is dragon fruit?

Pink Pitaya, or red dragon fruit, is a fruit from several species of cactus that are indigenous to South America, Southeast Asia, India, the United States, Australia, the Caribbean, Mesoamerica and throughout tropical and subtropical regions of the world.

It has a delicately sweet, fruity flavor and intensely vibrant color. It is also available in white and yellow varieties. The texture is similar to kiwifruit with tiny, crunchy seeds and has a leathery exterior.
