Are you ready for some FOOOOTBAAAALL??? You yelled that in your head as you read it, didn’t you? 😉 The big game is this weekend and every big game needs a cocktail! This year was kinda tricky for me to come up with something new and different, but here they are…. Super Bowl 2017 Cocktails “Patriots” vs “Falcons”…..
Okay so I actually cheated a bit, both cocktails are very similar and use some of the same ingredients. Which in the long run, makes it easier for you as a party host, right? Let’s go with that, k?
Both Super Bowl 2017 Cocktails require martini glasses and a cocktail shaker {I have this one}…..
My original plan was to make shooters by separating the red, white/clear/, and black rum for the “Falcons” cocktail…but I couldn’t get the layers to stay separate!!! So back to the drawing board. I ended up switching out the black rum for the the vodka in the “Patriots” cocktail…woohoo!
Scroll down to find the cocktail for your team. 🙂
Falcons Super Bowl 2017 Cocktail
Place ice in a cocktail shaker. Add all ingredients, place cap on shaker and shake to combine. Strain cocktail into a martini glass and garnish with a lime wedge…..
I scored the “laces” on the football lime wedge using a citrus zester. The instructions are in this post.
I used Goslings Bermuda Black Rum, but any dark rum will work. Spiced rum might be fun as well, but I did not give that a try. 😉
I may try making this one again on Sunday using dark cherry juice and see how that turns out.
Super Bowl 2017 Cocktails “Patriots”
Place ice in a cocktail shaker. Add all ingredients, place cap on shaker and shake to combine. Strain cocktail into a martini glass and garnish with a clementine orange wedge…..
I found several versions of a Cranberry Almond Kicker online and used that as my starting point, and they turned out really good. Of course I just came off 30 days of no sugar, dairy, grains, legumes, caffeine, soy, or alcohol so ANY cocktail was going to taste amazing. 😉
The original recipe called for the clementine orange wedges so I went with it. I didn’t want both cocktails to have the football lime wedge again, I wanted something different year. Speaking of previous cocktails, this Patriots Super Bowl Cocktail 2015 is delicious as well…..
I tried creating a battle of super bowl cocktails, but the camera only wanted to focus on the referee wipes…..
If you would like your very own referee wipes container, you can find the instructions in this post. 🙂
No game would be complete without food, lots of food!!
My favorite game day recipes:
Slow Cooker Shredded Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches
Bourbon Brown Sugar Barbecue Ribs {in the oven}
and these OREO® Cookie Footballs make a fun and delicious sweet treat…..
and the colors can be changed to match your favorite teams!
I hope everyone has a great time Sunday, and that your team wins – Enjoy!!
