What is a mimosa?

A mimosa cocktail is a combination of champagne (or sparkling wine) mixed with chilled fruit juice (usually orange juice). It is traditionally served in a tall champagne flute.

Technically this cocktail of Rosé champagne and grapefruit juice would be called a Megmosa, but not many people would would know that. Okay, I didn’t know that!

What you will need:

  • Rosé champagne or sparkling wine of your choice – I used Korbel.
  • Fresh squeezed red grapefruit juice – juice in a carton would work, if you can find it, but it won’t have that same fresh, crisp, flavor.
  • Fresh red grapefruit to use as a garnish.

How to serve grapefruit mimosas:

There are two simple ways to serve your mimosas. Pour the champagne and grapefruit juice into a large pitcher with frozen grapefruit slices. Your guests will be able to easily fill their glasses.

Option two, which is the more traditional way, is to place a thin slice of grapefruit into a slim Collins glass or champagne flute.

Two skinny glasses with a slice of red grapefruit in front of a bottle of pink sparkling wine and three grapefruit wedges on the right side.

Fill each glass 2/3 full with champagne (sparkling wine or club soda).
