✨ Recipe Inspiration
It’s time to celebrate this month’s Cooking with Astrology, and this month is Aquarius! So many things come to mind when I hear Aquarius…the song “Age of Aquarius”…the 60’s…rainbows and hippies. I tried to control myself and not go too crazy…..but we had to start our meal off with a Milky Way Martini!
I used to LOVE Milky Way candy bars, but they are caramel covered in milk chocolate. A big no no when you can’t eat dairy, but this martini has all of the flavors without any dairy! Cream de Cacao, Caramel Vodka, and Whipped Cream Vodka to mimic the nougat filling.
Are you curious who this imaginary meal is being shared with? I searched and searched for a celebrity Aquarius to use for inspiration, and I could only find one (that was not married).
Ashton Kutcher…..I can work with that! Christopher Ashton Kutcher is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which is where I currently reside, and is of Bohemian/Czech heritage. So this month we will be having Czech inspired dishes that are popular here in Eastern Iowa.
♒ Aquarius Meal Recipes
Okay, back to the Milky Way Martini. I had two different ideas in my head of how I wanted these martinis to look, so obviously I made both! I started with the clear cream de cacao and a bite sized milky way candy on a tooth pick. This one looks the most like a traditional martini.
So then I also tried it with dark cream de cocoa and a milky way candy cut to fit on the edge of the glass.
It might just be my imagination, but I preferred the martini made with the dark cream de cacao. It had more of a chocolate flavor than the clear one. Both were delicious, I guess it comes down to how you would like your drink to look.
🍸How do you make a Milky Way Martini?
Fill cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
Add cream de cacao, caramel vodka, and whipped cream vodka to the shaker. Shake to combine.
Pour into chilled martini glasses. Garnish with a milky way candy and serve!

Um… I am with Lyuba. Where is mine?? Looks like a delicious menu as always and can’t wait to see more. Pinning this for now.
Since I’m still waiting on my martini. 😉
Beautiful photos, Lisa. You really outdid yourself on the dinner this time! The cocktails look wonderful, and those galactic brownies are amazing. What a great job!
This martini looks so delicious! I grew up loving Milky Ways, and drinking one sounds like a great way to spend an evening. 🙂
Lisa, I love this ‘tasty beverage’! I just need the caramel vodka and I’ll be all set… pinning!
I am not really one for dessert-y martinis (though I do like a fruity one every once in a while) but I think my boyfriend would love it if I made him one of these! I just need to get some caramel vodka.
Honestly Karen, I am not one for martinis! 😉 They just seem to fit really well with my themes. This one really good, I will make it again.
Ok, where are the recipes for the Kolaches and for the Chicken Paprika?
I am of Czech descent on my mother’s mother’s side – sadly that side of the family is gone now. I didn’t get any recipes! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone mention Kolaches before. <3
That said, do you know anything about "Fleechka"? (I have no idea how it is spelled – but that is how it would be pronounced)
Oh yum, Lisa! This looks and sounds so good! Could you send one my way right now? 😉
Thank you for sharing at Marvelous Mondays this week- pinned & sharing!
I must try one of these ASAP!
I adore a liquified candy martini! This looks delicious, and like a perfect weekend treat.
