Ingredients

Ingredients to make Grinch Dip.
  • Cream Cheese: This is the heart of the dip, giving it a rich and tangy flavor. Make sure it’s room temperature for easy mixing.
  • White Chocolate Instant Pudding Mix: Adds another layer of flavor while keeping the texture nice and smooth.
  • Whole Milk and Heavy Cream: Used to make the pudding and add even more creaminess.
  • Whipped Cream: This gives the dip its light, fluffy texture. If you prefer, you can use Cool Whip whipped topping.
  • Powdered Sugar: To add a bit of sweetness to the whipped cream.
  • Green Food Gel: It wouldn’t be Grinch dip if it wasn’t a fun green color!
  • Red Sprinkles and Lime Green Jimmies: The red sanding sugar create the shape of a heart, while the green jimmies give this festive dip it’s ragged Grinch look.
  • Dippers: Graham crackers, vanilla wafers, gingersnaps, shortbread cookies, fresh fruit

How to Make Grinch Dip

Soften the Cream Cheese: Always start with room-temperature cream cheese. It blends easier and prevents lumps.

Whipped Topping: Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Add the whipped cream to the cream cheese mixture and beat just until combined.

Add Green Food Coloring: Start with a few drops of green food coloring. Gradually add more until the dip reaches that signature Grinch green shade.

Chill the dip for 10–15 minutes before serving. It enhances the flavor and firms up the texture for perfect dipping.

Expert Tips

  • Use gel-based or concentrated liquid food coloring. These provide vibrant color without requiring large amounts, which could potentially affect the taste.
  • You can prepare the dip up to 24 hours in advance. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator, but hold off on adding any garnishes or sprinkles until just before serving to keep them from softening, and the colors from running.
  • Small fondant hearts, or a swirl of red icing can be used for the Grinch’s heart if preferred.
  • Add a tablespoon of milk or cream at a time and stir until you reach your desired consistency if dip is too thick.
  • Mini chocolate chips, crushed peppermint candies, or festive holiday sprinkles make great additions for added texture and fun.
