    Max and everyone in Who-ville will love this Grinch Puppy Chow during the holidays | cookingwithcurls.com

    I cannot believe that tomorrow is December 1st...where does the time go? I have had this Grinch Puppy Chow written down for weeks now, and then something crazy happened the day after Thanksgiving. My dad got it into his head that we should tear the kitchen apart to install a massive island! I'm not complaining one bit.....

    other than the fact that I spent 3 days cleaning up the dust and debris that was created during the process {and I'm still not done}.....

    So that has put me behind on ALL of my planned cooking projects!! LOL

    The tile had to come out, and the concrete had to be cut to install 220 in the island for my new cook top.....YAY!! But it will all be worth it in the end...an end that could take months mind you...but I am looking forward to using this insanely huge 4' x 9' kitchen island. 🙂

    Question.....do you call it Grinch Puppy Chow or Muddy Buddies? We called it Puppy Chow in California, and the Grinch has a dog named Max.....

    The Whos have roast beast and Max has his delicious Grinch Puppy Chow to enjoy | cookingwithcurls.com

    so I went with Grinch Puppy Chow. It really doesn't matter what you call it, you just need to make it...and eat it...like now!!

    How to make Grinch Puppy Chow:

    Measure cereal and place in an extra-large bowl; set aside.....

    Place candy melts, peanut butter, and butter in a microwavable bowl. Heat on HIGH for 1 minute, stir. Heat for an additional 30 seconds, or until smooth, and stir to combine. Stir in the vanilla and green food coloring.....

    Repeat with the remaining mixture and sugar...then add it to the same baking sheet.

    Sprinkle M&M's over Puppy Chow and toss to combine.....

    Serve once cooled...in a dog bowl since everyone has an extra one laying around, right?

    Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator....if it lasts that long!

    Notes:

    • I used Rice Chex® because those are my favorite, but use whatever version your family likes the best.
    • I was hoping that the green candy melts would not be overpowered by the peanut butter, but that didn't work out so well...surprise, surprise. So I ended up adding AmeriColor Leaf Green gel color to achieve a deep Grinch green color.
    • The "official" recipe calls for a 2-gallon bag, but I have never seen one of those in the grocery store! We have always made ours in a 1-gallon bag and it works just fine. 😉
    • The M&M's will not stick to anything, they are just there to look festive.
    • I added Lime Green Jimmies, but they just disappeared into the powdered sugar so they were left out of the final recipe, lol.

    I still have plenty of Jumbo Red Heart Sprinkles left from previous Grinch recipes, so I threw some in for fun. 🙂

    More fun Grinch recipes:

    Grinch Popcorn

    Grinch Hot Chocolate {naughty or nice}

    Grinch Who-Punch {naughty or nice}

    Yes, I did purchase a stuffed Grinch and Book for these posts...and then of course I needed stuffed Max reindeer for the Grinch Puppy Chow....because I am weird like that. 😉

    I have never gotten into the whole Elf on a Shelf thing, but I might do Grinch on a Shelf instead, lol. First I need to find the attachments to the vacuum cleaner so I can vacuum the walls in my kitchen!

    Enjoy!!
