This icy cold Watermelon Margarita Sorbet is fresh and delicious, which makes it the perfect dessert to serve on a hot summer night!
I got a little bit carried away with art projects this week, and left the preparation of this recipe until late in the day…like there is already no sunlight late in the day.
So what you see above is a “soft-serve” variation of Watermelon Margarita Sorbet since I did not leave myself enough time for it to chill for 5 hours!! I mean seriously, that is such a long time to wait, lol Not that it takes away any of the deliciousness.
It is very soft and just slightly more frozen than a Watermelon Margarita. If you’re looking for a baked watermelon flavored treat, I would suggest a Watermelon Margarita Cocktail Cake.
Okay, I have a question….what is up with these “seedless” watermelons? Are these not seeds.
because they look like seeds to me!! Luckily, they disintegrate into the sorbet since I have the taste palette of a picky five year old. 🙂
How to make Watermelon Margarita Sorbet:
Place all ingredients into a blender.
and blend until smooth…and frothy.
Place mixture in the refrigerator and chill for at least one hour. I left mine in the blender container.
Pour mixture into a frozen canister for your ice cream maker, and process according to manufacture’s instructions {about 20 minutes}.
Serve immediately for a soft serve consistency. For a more typical, scoopable consistency, freeze for 3 to 5 hours.
I am still fascinated by the smooth, creamy texture that is achieved without any dairy!
If you have leftover watermelon to use up, you could make a Watermelon Moscow Mule or Watermelon Fruit Salad.
Recipe Notes & Tips:
- If you do not have an ice cream maker, I am guessing that you could simply freeze the mixture in the freezer until ready to serve….but don’t quote me on that
- Yes, you can leave out the tequila and add orange juice instead of the orange liqueur, but then you will have a Watermelon Sorbet which is different.

Love this post and the look of your blog. I have been looking for something to do with my watermelon that’s taking up space in my freezer. I think I got a little pin happy with your images also!
Thank you so much!! Turning watermelon into a cocktail/sorbet is definitely my favorite way to use them. 😉
