Then my new Pampered Chef pizza stone that I ordered last week arrived…another HAPPY DANCE!!! Then my website went down…panic attack…crying…terror!!! Every horrible scenario went thru my head for the past 20+ hours until it was finally restored…HAPPY DANCE! (Thank you Alex)

I made a giant Sugar Cookie Pizza for Mother's Day on a pizza stone, which how it got it's name! Sarcasm people!! cookingwithcurls.com

Let’s celebrate!! This long story will explain why I made a giant Sugar Cookie Pizza. Why it is called a Pizza. Yes, I do know the difference between a pizza and a bar cookie thank you very much! 😉

What is in the giant box?

What was in the box you wonder? Why it was my new BOSCH Stand Mixer! I was so shocked when Katie from Clarks Condensed emailed me to tell me that I had won! I’ll be honest, at first I had no clue what she was talking about. So I went to her site and looked for the contest and almost hit the floor. The BOSCH stand mixer is on my wish list to replace my completely useless KitchenAid mixer!

Yes, I am going to torment you with my happiness! It’s kind of space age looking. It’s really lightweight, as in carry with one hand. The secret is the suction cups that are on the bottom on the mixer. When it is mixing, it stays in place! I thought about trying to make bread for the first time without a bread machine, but then realized I should probably start with something that I know.

Why I chose to make a giant sugar cookie pizza:

a) because they are so simple to make

b) because I saw sugar cookie bars over at highheelsandgrills last week and couldn’t stop thinking about them

c) I have a new pizza stone to season

d) it’s Mother’s Day weekend, I can do whatever i want

Here is my new toy in action…..

sugar cookie beat

Do you see that clear lid? That is my favorite part so far! You probably already know that I don’t add flour and powdered sugar in stages like you’re supposed to, I add them all at once. Well now I can, the lid keeps all of the ingredients inside! Do you see that round cover to the right, that is where you add a blender attachment, crazy right? There is also a Cookie Paddle Set that I will need to purchase in the future!

How to make a sugar cookie pizza:

I used my Traditional Sugar Cookie Recipe.

Beat the butter, shortening, eggs, and vanilla together in a large bowl.

Blend in flour, baking powder, and salt.

Spread the entire batch (without chilling it first) out on a lightly greased pizza stone, mine is brand new remember, you have to season it…..

sugar cookie rolled out

Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 14 minutes. I left it on the stone and allowed it to cool overnight.

In the morning I made my Buttercream Frosting recipe and tinted it aqua blue.

How to make Buttercream Frosting:

Beat together butter, shortening, and salt on low for about 5 minutes.

Add extracts {or liqueurs} and beat to combine. Add half of the powdered sugar and the meringue powder, mix together.

Add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar at a time until you reach your desired consistency. Add a little milk or water, a teaspoon at a time if necessary to thin the frosting. Continue mixing on low for several minutes to create a light and fluffy frosting.

If you would like to color the frosting, add gel coloring a little at a time. Beat together until thoroughly combined.

I spread the frosting over the entire cookie and sprinkled pretty white jimmies on top…..

My favorite recipes combined to create a delicious Sugar Cookie Pizza that is perfect for any occasion! cookingwithcurls.com

  1. Congrats on your new stand mixer! Your new pizza stone looks great. I have a Stone Age pizza stone from Pampered Chef that’s 15 years old — I love the loom of the new one. Making sugar cookie pizza on it is brilliant. Have a great Mother’s Day!

  2. You did a great job with your new mixer! A happy dance was very fitting. I have the same kitchen aid you do, which has a different bowl mechanism than the ones sold today, so I know exactly what you mean! Great looking cookie!

  3. That is so awesome. Your cookie looks delicious 🙂 Happy Mother’s Day! Thanks for joining us at the Let’s Get Social Sunday party.

  4. Yikes, you must have felt sick over your site being down! I know I would have! So glad everything seems to be in good shape now. That is so wonderful that you won a new mixer! I always feel like there’s no way I will win any of the giveaways, but now that I know a real live person who won an awesome prize, I’ll have more hope. Enjoy your mixer and pizza stone! I don’t have a pizza stone yet but need to invest in one.

    Happy Mother’s Day!

    1. Oooo I’m drooling… over the mixer AND that yummy looking cookie.

I had no idea that this beautiful BOSCH contraption even existed. She is going to bring you many future Happy Dances. I can tell 🙂

I have a vintage Kitchen Aid stand mixer, but it doesn’t have the issue of not getting to the food at the bottom of the bowl. Mine mixes everything up. I guess they truly don’t make things like they use to. I DO however have to scape the sides of the bowl every so often. I will mention tho’ that my newest toy, the Ninja Mega Kitchen System (the biggest 1500 watt/2HP motor model), has likely replaced my Kitchen Aid for good!…. You should totally try mine out when you come to visit this Summer =D. It doesn’t look nearly as cool and space agey as your BOSCH dealio tho’ 🙂

Congrats on the win, Lisa, and here’s to many more delish delectables from CookingWithCurls!

      1. …. Oh and I too have a Pampered Chef large pizza stone and those things rock!! We’ve made many a cookie pizza on it in this house.

I also discovered that not all pizza stones are created equal. I bought another, cheaper, one from somewhere else (Trader Joes I think), and it’s HORRIBLE!. It weird and never seems to season up. I don’t mean like it looses it’s seasoning, but it actually does not initially season at all. “Hate” is a strong word, but yeah… I hate it.

So, if you’re in the market for a pizza stone, purchase a Pampered Chef stone folks! It’s worth the dough to make your dough worth while 😉

*And No, I am Not affiliated with Pampered Chef in any way shape or form – just love their stoneware*

  5. I’m jealous of the new pizza stone!! I recently cracked mine in half. 🙁 Guess I need to splurge on a new pampered chef one too! Loving the sugar cookie pizza. Thanks for stopping by our blog and facebook page.

  8. I have a kitchen aid and LOVE it, but I have also heard great things about Bosch mixers. How fun to win! I love sugar cookies. What a fun idea to bake them like a pizza!

  9. I found you through Spatulas on Parade and I love the new mixer. I have Kitchen Aid mix which I have had for about 15 years. It isn’t the biggest or the best but I do love it. I add all the flour at once and make a mess of things but every once in awhile I ask my very patient husband to clean it for me and it looks like new 🙂 I also love this cookie recipe. I had a pampered chef stone and my father in law put it in the bottom of my old oven and it was not a drawer but a broiler and my pan got cooked black! I bought a Henn pizza stone which my mother in law put something frozen on when it was hot and it cracked. I got my third replacement and I use it for everything but the one with the handles does look super easy to use. Lastly, yum the one recipe. It sounds like something my husband will really love so I am going to make it soon!

  10. So jealous 🙂 The sugar cookie pizza looks like a treat my kiddos would love! Thank you so much for sharing at last week’s All My Bloggy Friends:) I can’t wait to see what you share this week!

  12. looks yummy! I wish I had a mixer. Thanks for linking up & sharing @ DearCreatives.com great to have you!Hope to see you again this week! Theresa

  13. Hi, just a tip when cleaning your bowl. The drive shaft going up the center column twists off at the bottom. If you twist that off, you can then add the bowl to the dishwasher or leave it to soak as you did. I always remove mine when washing to prevent any possibility if rust and honestly, just to get it more clean.

    Congrats on the new mixer!

  14. My toy is 16 yrs old now and I still love that Bosch so much!! Thank you so much for coming to share at Super Saturday Show & Tell! I’d love to have you come and share again today Have a great weekend! xoxo~ Ruthie
