Well here we are…..the last day of 2013! Are you ready for 2014? Do you have new goals or resolutions for the new year? The best way to look to the future, is to learn from the past…..right? So here we go, The Best Recipes of 2013 on Cooking with Curls…..
I have gathered all of the information together, and these are the top posts, recipes, and pins for 2013!
The Best Recipes of 2013
The Most Popular Post in every way possible is: Homemade Ranch Dressing {dairy-free}
This is the most viewed post, the most popular recipe, and the most pinned photo/recipe!
The second most popular post: Pumpkintini
The third most popular post: Apple Streusel Pizza
The fourth most popular post: Watermelon Margarita Cocktail Cake(s)
This was the cake with the most options…..Bundt cake, cupcakes, or Bundt Shots!
The fifth most popular post: Southwest Chicken Salad “Summer”
The “Summer” version has the mangoes and Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing. 🙂 I just realized that I never posted the “Fall” version…oops! I guess I should do that tomorrow.
It does seem a bit strange to me, that the most popular recipes/posts are not also the most pinned posts. So here are the remainder of the most pinned recipes:
The third most pinned recipe: Avocado Shrimp Risotto
This recipe was just posted on December 6th, so it must REALLY be popular! 🙂
The fourth most pinned recipe: BAILEY’S Kiss Cocktail Cake
The fifth most pinned recipe: Guinness Chili
Jetpack was nice enough to send me and email link to “Your 2013 year in blogging” where the page views and most popular posts were broken down for me. I am very thankful for that! 🙂 They also provided information on what people were searching for, and where the visitors came from.
People came searching for:
(the 9th most popular post), dairy free ranch dressing, cooking with curls, and peanut butter and jelly sandwich….okay that last one makes me laugh 😉
The day with the highest page views, was October 13th…..the most viewed post that day was Chocolate Chip Cookies
I am a bit confused, because these cookies ended up being the seventh most popular recipe?? I still have a lot more to learn about how this all works! 😉
The Top Referring Sites were not really a big surprise:
pinterest, facebook, android.pinterest, sixsistersstuff, and theladybehindthecurtain (Six Sister’s Stuff and The Lady Behind the Curtain are link parties 🙂 )
They also let me know who left the most comments on my posts. The #1 commenter for 2013 was…..Marcie from Flavor the Moments!! Thank you so much Marcie and all of my other wonderful friends for all of your kind words and encouragement this past year. It has been a bumpy ride, and you have all been so supportive! I couldn’t do this if it weren’t for all of you coming by to visit me and taking the time to let me know what you think…..so a BIG THANK YOU!!!
I really do listen to your suggestions and I am making some changes for 2014.
I will be placing the step-by-step photos within the post, instead of the small photos in the recipe. I will still have to work on lighting in my dark, tiny kitchen, but they will be much easier to see! 😉
I will also be adding more dairy-free, clean eating / low carb recipes. That was the original vision for this blog, so it’s about time I get my act together. Don’t worry, I won’t be going crazy and eliminating food groups. I just think there needs to be a bit more balance in my food choices! (More on that subject coming up soon).
The eighth most popular recipe was Dairy-free Chocolate Cream Pie, so that makes 2 out of 10 being dairy-free!
My big goal, and I’m about to put in in writing for the whole world to see…..is to finally create my Cocktail Cakes Cookbook! I have been working on the recipes for almost 9 years, so now it’s time to put it all together and get it in ebook form! 🙂
Is there anything else that you would like to see here in 2014? Just let me know. 🙂
Happy New Year!!
What a fun collection of recipes Lisa, happy new year and I hope 2014 is an even better year for you my dear!
Lisa, it’s great to see all of these wonderful recipes again and such a good reminder that I need to make them! 🙂 Happy New Year!! Pinning!
Happy New Year, Lisa! Some great recipes here…I look forward to your changes in 2014, especially dairy-free!
WOW, I am your top commenter?! How nice! I’m a big supporter of your blog because I love it — look at that Guinness Beef Chili (which I posted and loved), those cookies, and that chocolate pie among all the others…and your sense of humor always gets me. Blogging is a time consuming job but it’s so worth it. Your cookbook sounds like a fantastic idea, and I gotta get on the cocktail cake bandwagon. Happy New Year! 🙂
I hope you have a happy 2014 my friend! I would be the first one to buy your cookbook! Sounds like a wonderful idea. Pinned!
