Cranberry Orange Margarita

‘Tis the season to drink cocktails. Celebrate the holidays with a fun and festive Cranberry Orange Margarita; made with fresh squeezed orange juice, pure cranberry juice, orange liqueur and tequila! You didn’t think that margaritas were just for summer did you? Your party guests will love this version and they’re super easy to make!

Not too tart, not too sweet…they are just right!

What you need to make this recipe:

A good quality Tequila

Orange liqueur 

Fresh squeezed orange juice

100% pure cranberry juice – not cocktail

Salt or sugar to rim your glass

Orange wedge or round and fresh cranberries to garnish – if desired

How to make a Cranberry Orange Margarita:

Rub the rim of the glass with juice or water. Dip into salt or sugar and set aside.

Pour the tequila, orange liqueur, orange juice and cranberry juice into a cocktail shaker and shake until well mixed.

Pour into an ice filled glass and garnish with orange and/or cranberries and serve.

The bubbles are inside the glass, not in the cocktail!

Recipe Notes:

  • Cheap liquor will create a bitter cocktail – don’t skimp and buy the store brand!
  • If short on time you can use orange juice in a carton, but it will affect the taste.
  • I used Himalayan pink salt because it is sitting on my counter. Feel free to use margarita salt, kosher salt or super fine sugar if you prefer.
  • I used Cabo Wabo tequila, Ocean Spray 100% cranberry juice, navel oranges and Cointreau orange liqueur.

  • 1 ounce orange liqueur triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • 2 ounces cranberry juice 100% pure - not cocktail
  • orange wedge and fresh cranberries to garnish - optional
