Simple Syrup is the perfect sweetener to add to cocktails and cold drinks, including my all-time favorite Passion Tea Lemonade. Because the sugar is already dissolved your drink are not gritty.

Ingredients needed to make simple syrup:

    • granulated sugar
    • water

    How to make Simple Syrup:

Start by placing granulated sugar in a saucepan.

Heat over medium-high heat until completely dissolved, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Make sure ALL of the sugar crystals have completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Pour syrup into a glass container or jar with a tight sealing lid, and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.

This is a great recipe to include in your collection! I seriously can't believe that people buy simple syrup in the stores, and not even in as cute as a container as yours!!

I always try to have a batch of simple syrup hanging around, and it is really awesome flavored, too! It's so great for smoothies, sauces, dressings, etc. It really is worthy of it's own post! 🙂

Have you ever seen how much simple syrup costs to buy at a store?? It is soooo ridiculously over priced! I would have never thought to buy it, but I saw it one time and was absolutely blown away. I always have some made up and on hand!

I have seen so many cocktail recipes that ask for this and I didn't want to buy it. Pinned recipe, but easy to remember.
