Are you still fascinated by the enchantment of the Harry Potter books and movies? I still watch the movies several times each year which helped inspire these magical Harry Potter Cocktails: Dumbledore’s Pensieve CocktailThe Dark Mark MartiniPolyjuice Potion, Sorcerer’s Stone, and Butter Beer Cocktail.

Recipe Inspiration

Harry’s name is unexpectedly chosen by the Triwizard Cup to become a competitor in a grueling battle for glory among three wizarding schools – the Triwizard Tournament. After Fleur, Cedric, and Viktor’s names were chosen, fire and sparks began flying out of the cup.

I prefer to create Harry Potter cocktails that represent the descriptions in the books and movies, so I knew that my cocktail needed to be teal blue, swirl around, and have flames shooting out of the goblet!

No you are not going blind, the flames did not show up in the images. I added flames to the image at the top for effect. The actual flames are a purply, blue and gold combination. To add sparks, carefully sprinkle a dash of cinnamon over the flame!

Recipe Notes & Tips

  • Rum with a high alcohol content will give you a better flame than using regular rum.
  • It is best to use thick glasses to help prevent them from breaking from the heat. Glass will shatter if it gets too hot!
  • Light the flame to impress your guests, then extinguish it rather quickly. It is a fun party trick, and not meant to cook your cocktail!
  • ALWAYS extinguish your drink BEFORE attempting to drink it!
  • Be careful around the flames if you have long hair or use hairspray, both are flammable. Hold you hair back and gently blow the flame out without getting too close to the glass.
